Free Overview

In this free introductory session, we did an overview of the MCAT exam: what it looks like, what some general approaches to studying are, etc. We also talked a bit about the application process and how the MCAT fits into that overall.

Science Introduction

In this first session, we first have an overview of the Three Science Sections, and Chem/Phys in particular:

  • Timing

  • Content Tested

  • Types of Questions

We briefly go over the different question types on this section. Then we'll discuss the different ways of approaching these types of questions.

Physics Content Review:

The bulk of this session is taken up with physics content review. We go over some of the most common physics questions asked on the MCAT, and discuss the best strategies for reviewing physics content. Remember not to get stuck on Physics review!

CARS Overview

In this session, we first introduce CARS: Overall section strategies and the overall approach to the section. We then tackle a couple of the passages from the AAMC Sample Test, including both the easiest and the most difficult, and go through the thought process of answering these types of questions.

Physical Chemistry Review

In the second half of this lesson, we review some of the highest yield Physical Chemistry content, focusing on that which relates more directly to physical systems.

Chemistry of Life

In this session, we finish our review of general chemistry with a look at the chemistry concepts which relate more to biochemistry, such as rates, thermodynamics, and acids/bases.

Organic Chemistry

In this session, we review all the reactions and concepts the MCAT wants you to know from Organic Chemistry.

Psych/Soc Overview

In this session, we first introduce Psych/Soc section strategies, and we discuss some of the resources needed to do well on this section. We then go over the most common question types on this section.

Biochem Overview

In this session, we introduce the Bio/Biochem section of the test. We then go over the most important biochemistry concept: Proteins, Amino Acids, and Enzymes.

Proteins & Enzymes

In this session, we go over the most important biochemistry concept: Proteins, Amino Acids, and Enzymes.

Metabolism Review

In this session, we review the concepts of metabolism: Glycolysis, cellular respiration, etc.

DNA & Genetics

We discuss all aspects of DNA: structure, replication, and transcription/translation, as well as mitosis and meiosis.

Cell Biology

Here, we summarize the features of cells as the MCAT wants us to know them.
